QBiotics Co-founder Dr Victoria Gordon named 2025 ATSE Fellow for Contributions to Medical Innovation
QBiotics is delighted to announce our Co-founder and Non-Executive Director, Dr Victoria Gordon, has been elected as a 2025 Fellow of the Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering (ATSE).
ATSE is among Australia’s most prestigious scientific and engineering bodies, comprising more than 900 experts from academia, industry and government. Election to the Fellowship is a significant honour, awarded through a highly selective process that recognises individuals who have made outstanding contributions to applying science, technology, and engineering to solve pressing national and global challenges.
Dr Gordon’s election reflects her exceptional and sustained impact in the fields of health and medical innovation, including the development of novel therapies for diseases with unmet clinical need.
As Co-founder of QBiotics, Dr Gordon has played a pivotal role in establishing the company as a globally recognised leader in biotechnology. Under her leadership, QBiotics has developed the EcoLogic™ discovery technology and progressed tigilanol tiglate (TT) through clinical trials in oncology. These efforts aim to contribute to advances in both human and animal health through innovative approaches to therapeutic development.
Dr Gordon co-founded QBiotics in 2000 alongside forest ecologist, Dr Paul Reddell, establishing a new approach to drug discovery grounded in understanding natural defence systems within complex biological environments. This scientific vision led to the creation of EcoLogic™, QBiotics’ proprietary biodiscovery technology, which has since underpinned the development of high-potential drug candidates for both human and veterinary medicine.
Throughout her 24-year tenure as CEO, Dr Gordon led QBiotics from its origins as a small start-up to a company of nearly 60 professionals, engaging in collaborations with international research institutions and clinical leaders. Today, our company’s clinical programs are focused on oncology and wound healing – areas aligned with our mission to address unmet clinical needs through science-led innovation.
“I am truly honoured to be appointed as a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering (ATSE). It is a privilege to join such a respected community of scientists, engineers, and innovators who are all committed to making a real difference.
“ATSE plays a crucial role in shaping a better future for Australia by championing evidence-based advice to protect our environment, build a skilled and diverse workforce, support thriving industries, and drive sustainable progress. I am excited to be in a position to contribute to this important mission,” said Dr Gordon.
QBiotics extends its warmest congratulations to Dr Gordon and to all 35 distinguished individuals elected as 2025 Fellows of the Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering.
This prestigious honour recognises not only individual excellence, but also the transformative potential of science and innovation. The 2025 Fellowship cohort’s collective contributions, spanning medical physics, sustainable engineering, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, and more, highlight the vital role of science-led innovation in addressing Australia’s most pressing challenges.
